Stamford High School first to 100 blogs!

Not that it’s a competition…but Stamford High School made it to a hundred posts first (we’re sure the boys will catch us up). A lot of us were sceptical about the blog when it started, would it just be teachers’ blogging examination advice etc? Well, no, not at all. It’s been entirely given over to the students to make of it what we will, and the blogs have been eclectic!

We’ve had all the arts but also lots of science too. Some blogs have been really quite simple, from a Year 7 attempting to write their first formal poem, to the incredibly complex, such as political blogs written completely in Spanish. Mr Tuck and Mr Mills confine themselves to doing a bit of proofreading but they’ve leave the rough edges in.

The blog feels like a scrapbook of everything that’s happened over the year, and the key thing is that it records all these moments that would otherwise be lost. Plans for the future including giving the blog an Instagram account to try and increase its readership. But with 10, 000 hits since September and 270 twitter followers it’s fair to say that the blog has made a splash. We’ve just got to get the boys to catch up now on the blog posts!
