Warwick School
Against Warwick we didn’t show our true potential, the long bus journey was still in our legs against a very good opposition. Our tackling however was still very good and some great performances from Laith Nusair-Palmer and Raiffe Headley kept us in the game. During the second half, our rucking, tackling and running with the ball was a lot better.
Magdalen College School
We definitely learned some valuable lessons against Warwick and instantly upped our game. We worked hard for each other as a team and played through the phases. We thought about our tactics and really used them to our advantage. The boys really did find their groove and went on to score 5 well worked tries!

U15B
Charlie Willis scored all of the U15B teams points on Saturday in our 21 – 5 won at Oakham. Included three tries and three conversions with the last try coming from superb possession for a number of phases before chip and gather from Charlie ‘The main man’ Willis.
Stamford vs Warwick 15th September 2018
12Ds
On the 15th of September Stamford and Warwick school went head-to-head in one of the greatest rugby matches ever, ending with a deserving 6-5 win to Stamford. Stamford won due to their teamwork and team spirit, which meant they managed to hold out until the end. A quick 3 tries to Stamford was the best start they could have hoped for, but Warwick struck back with 2 tries in 5 minutes, Stamford managed to score a lucky try but Warwick were catching up. Warwick scored another try bringing it up to 5-4 in Warwick’s favour. Another try to Stamford levelled the scores with 8 minutes to go. And then, a quick try from Stamford from their own 5m line meant that Stamford had just managed to snatch the lead, 7 minutes to go and Stamford played some of the best rugby seen around, ending with a fantastic tackle on a Warwick player, denying them the try and the match. Stamford were gracious in winning with handshakes all round. An amazing performance by both teams but Stamford just pushed themselves until the end. We will be hoping to have another great match next week
Squash vs Oakham
Thurs 13th Sept our 1st & 2nd squash teams took on Oakham for the first time this year.
1st V won 4-1 with Ethan Archer, Tom Andrews, William Barker and Edward Gallacher all winning.
2nd V lost 5-0 but we had a very inexperienced team all of whom were playing there first every match and varying in age from Y9 to Y13.
George Bingham lost 3-1 at No 1. Gabriel Rudman lost 3-0 at No2. Jake Leeds lost at No3 3-0 and Mark Saunders lost 3-1 at No4.
Generally a good start to the season especially for Ethan Archer who had not won at against Oakham for a long time. Well done to him.
