During the summer holidays, I have been to Norfolk with some close family friends for some birthday celebrations. We had lots of fun but the highlight for me was going to the Damien Hirst Exhibition at Houghton Hall.
Damien Hirst is a famous artist, who creates amazing pieces of artwork, many of which have been shown in exhibitions around the World.
He is famous for his unusual artwork and sculptures, including paintings created from dots of various sizes and models showing the various parts of the human body. The dots are spread randomly over the canvases, in different colours and sizes. The finished artwork is very striking. All of the paintings are unique and different from one another which makes it really fun.
The human body project represents the working of the human body in a different form. One of his most famous pieces of the human body project is Myth which is a statue of a unicorn with half its body as we are used to seeing and the other cut out so that you can see the inner workings of its body.
Damien Hirst divides opinion and his work would not be to everyone’s taste but I loved the exhibition and he is one of my favourite artists.
