Milly blogs about competing in ‘The Schools Head of the River Race’.

The Schools Head of the River Race takes place on the Thames ( 7km course that is the University Boat Race course only raced in reverse ) and is one of the last Head races of the season and 365 boats competed from the top schools and clubs : for the boys, Eton, Radley, Shrewebury, Stowe and St Pauls and for the girls, Lady Eleanor Hollis, Putney High School, Canford, Wimbledon High School and Headington as well as well known clubs such as Henley, Marlow and Molesey ( full list – ).
It was our first time on the Thames and in a coxless quad (the one at the front steers with her feet) and we rowed a really good race and came a very credible second place to Marlow, a club that rows on the Thames day in day out. Check out our pictures!
